A Word About Button Crafts
Buttons are wonderful objects. They work hard for us and often "keep us together." Like any ordinary object, some can also be extraordinary. Collectors of these precious buttons are grateful to crafters and artists who use buttons in their work and they often purchase items made with buttons. But nothing makes a guardian of precious buttons cringe more than to see unintentional destruction of a button that may have significant historical or artistic value. It also might be just as disappointing to the crafter or artist when they find out they may have destroyed such a significant piece of history or work of art. If the button is not going to be harmed and it will be used as is, by all means, create, create, create!
So the best thing to do if you enjoy your buttons in this way, but you're curious that you may have a button that would be more valuable left in its current state, just ask! This group is more than beyond button happy to help you decide! You will feel great just knowing that you made a conscious decision in the name of button preservation and the best choice for your art.
With that said, here are several great button craft books.
